Advice to young players If you want to achieve in table tennis, or in any sport, you have to train hard. Never give up. Always welcome criticism and give it 110%!

About me!

I first started playing Table Tennis when I was eight years old at my local club, Lillington Free Church. The main reason I got involved in Table Tennis was because my mum, Lynn Bolitho, used to play - She was one of the best women players in the town and county at the time. I would go to Free Church every Saturday and really enjoyed it.

When I was about ten years old I started to enter some of the tournaments on the circuit. I will always remember my grandad bought me some table tennis shoes and I felt like a real professional!

Then, when I was thirteen, I was invited to live at the National Training Centre in Nottingham where I lived for two years. I then moved to Sheffield and trained at the English Institute of Sport.

I have recently moved to Nottingham, as I am training at University of Nottingham alonside my position as Director of Table Tennis for the University!

Throughout my career there have been many positive influences, but in particular I would like to thank my parents for their continued help and support. Without them helping me through the lows I would not of been able to strive forward and go on to gain my bronze medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014.

I would also like to thank the people at Lillington Free Church, for their encouragement, as well as my coach, Alan Cooke, for all his help over the years.
