I have recently won the English National Championships, which were held in March at Ponds Forge, Sheffield. This was such a great feeling as I had been working very hard on all aspects of my game towards the championships and it was also one of my goals to achieve this season.
I would like to thank my coach, parents and family for their help and support because, like always, I wouldn’t of been able to achieve this without them.
My next big tournament is the World Championships which are being held in Rotterdam. They start on the 8th of May and finish on the 15th. This is a great opportunity for me to see the world’s top players and to learn from them.
I have just put together a 3 week plan with my coach leading up to the World Championships. Week 1 I will be training in Germany, Week 2 I will be training in Sweden, and Week 3 I will be training at the EIS in Sheffield where the GB table tennis squad is based. My plan includes physical training, psychology sessions, and physio sessions.
When I’m back from the World Champs I will have a couple of months in England before we go to China in August. This is always a great experience to go out there and practice as they are the best and you can improve many areas in your game.
